'No way': Coles roast chicken deal helping customers save serious cash
A Coles shopper has been left stunned by a roast chicken deal she had failed to notice until her local store began heavily promoting it.
Since April, Coles customers have been able to pick up a roast chook and 1.25L soft drink bottle for $13.50.
Coles roast chickens cost $12.50 so that's only an extra $1 for the soft drink, which usually costs $4.

TikTok content creator @heyitsbiancasucan came across the deal this week.
"Buy a RSPCA Roast Chicken from Coles and get a 1.25L Coke for $1 🤯 Not all stores advertise this!!!" she shared in one video.
In an additional video, she explained shoppers are effectively "buying your hot chook and then you're paying an extra dollar for a 1.25L drink."
This deal runs from April 2025 until February 2026.

Coles has also been advertising the deal nationally on its website.
While most of her followers are impressed by the deal, with one calling it the ultimate "girl dinner", others feel it could be better.
"What a weird combo would make more sense offering a fresh pack of buns," one TikToker commented.
"It's heavily advertised in my local," another said.
"It's on a big sign on top of the chooks and in the drinks fridge that has 1.25L drinks.
"Crazy to me other stores don't make it more of a thing."
One Woolies shopper pointed out Woolworths has a similar deal with their roast chickens on their food delivery app MilkRun. Theirs costs slightly more, $13.95.

A little-known Coles rule that can result in a free roast chook has also been doing the rounds once again on TikTok.
If a customer can't find a roast chicken in stores, they are given a voucher for a free one to redeem at a later stage.
This was confirmed by a Coles spokesperson who told nine.com.au: "Our RSPCA Approved Hot Roast Chickens are one of our most purchased items across the entire supermarket.
"As part of Coles' RSPCA approved 'Hot Roast Chicken Promise' we strive to ensure they are available when our customers want them most.

"As such, customers are eligible to collect a voucher for a free RSPCA Hot Roast Chicken to use within 7 days if the RSPCA Hot Roast Chicken is unavailable during certain hours as stipulated on signage in the deli area of the store.
"This 'Promise' is available in most stores nationwide, however, as there are different trading hours by state/store, different stores have different time periods on their signage."
