Arnott's discontinues popular assorted biscuit pack: 'A staple in every office tea room'
Arnott's Australia has reportedly discontinued its popular Classic Assorted variety packs of biscuits, ending an era of fierce family debates ranking the range in order of flavour.
2GB's Ben Fordham shared the news on Ben Fordham Live on Friday.
"It is my duty to inform you of news that is going to rock the biscuit world. A staple in every office tea room in Australia is about to disappear."
It was listener Peter Neve who informed the radio host of the news.

Neve told Fordham the variety packs are one of his favourites and he noticed they were missing from his local supermarket shelves "off and on."
He thought it may be a distribution issue until he noticed another product in its place.

The Classic Assorted variety pack included six varieties – Butternut Snap, Kingston, Choc Chip, Scotch Finger, Shortbread Cream and Monte Carlo biscuits.
They retailed for an average of $4.50 for 500 grams.

Neve told Fordham he wrote to Arnott's Australia to confirm the news and received a message which read: "Due to ongoing low sales and limited shelf space in supermarkets we have made the difficult decision to stop production of this product."
Neve has noticed a new Arnott's variety pack in its place, High Tea Favourites.
Weighing 400 grams, it includes just four varieties – Scotch Finger, Raspberry Shortcake, Monte Carlo and Shortbread Cream.

This is in addition to the Family Favourites variety pack, which includes seven varieties – Milk Coffee, Teddy Bear, Choc Ripple, Scotch Finger, Butternut Snap, Milk Arrowroot and Nice.
It isn't known if popular Assorted Creams variety packs are also on the chopping block.

Arnott's Australia has confirmed the discontinuation of the Classic Assorted variety packs of biscuits however state Assorted Creams remain on shelves along with the new variety packs.
