Aldi wins best supermarket award with Woolworths coming in a close second
The results are in, and it's official: Aldi Australia has been crowned the best supermarket Down Under.
For the eighth time in 10 years, Canstar Blue's Awards has bequeathed the budget supermarket giant with the Most Satisfied Customers Award in their supermarket category.
"We are thrilled to be rated Australia's best supermarket by Canstar Blue," Aldi Stores Group Buying Director Simon Padovani-Ginies says.

"Our commitment to providing the highest quality products at incredibly low prices is clearly resonating with our customers and is something we are extremely proud of."
Each year, Canstar Blue compares grocery chains Aldi, Woolworths, Coles and IGA against multiple criteria — customer service, store layout and satisfaction, available specials and deals, value for money, product variety, meat and produce freshness, quality of private label products and overall satisfaction.
In 2021, Aldi scored five out of five stars in six of the eight criteria, scoring four stars in variety of products and three in customer service and accessibility of staff.

In third place is Coles, which scored four stars in each category, tying them with Woolworths in overall satisfaction.
IGA scored three stars in every category except for customer service and accessibility of staff, wherein which it scored five — the highest score in that category out of the big four.

Aldi shoppers are not shy about their love for the brand, with many recipes and product hacks often making waves on social media, such as the $4 per serve family dinner kits.
One creative mum's cake hack, using Aldi's Choceur chocolate to make a floral-like centrepiece on the top of her cake, also went viral on the popular Aldi Mums Facebook group recently.
