Donald Trump favourite reporter cheating scandal

One of US President Donald Trump's favoured Fox News reporters is embroiled in a divorce scandal.

Jesse Watters - whose Instagram account features several intimate photos with Trump - has reportedly admitted to an affair with colleague Emma DiGiovine, 25, who works as an associate producer at the network.

Watters' wife Noelle filed for divorce in October, 2017.

The New York Daily News alleges Watters has admitted to the affair, with the couple still dating.

The 39-year-old reportedly informed the Chief of Human Resources that he was in a consensual relationship with the woman on his staff.

DiGiovine was apparently transferred to another program on the network.

A source told the Daily rumours of an affair began circulating last year with photos of the pair on outings together appearing on their social media feeds.

President Trump has previously written to the reporter, saying, "To Jesse you are great!" and commented he couldn't get enough of him on TV.

Fox News has been the subject of allegations of sexual harassment and sexism as part of its workplace culture.

Network founder Roger Ailes left the company in July 2016 following allegations of harassment. Star reporter Bill O'Reilly also left in April of 2017 after news broke of several sexual harassment settlements over inappropriate behaviour.

Now Watters - who met his now estranged wife Noelle at the network - is getting divorced due to a workplace romance.

The couple has twin daughters.
