Fashion influencer with hunter boyfriend branded 'disgusting' for posing with dead animals

In a love story becoming as obscure as 2020, an American fashion influencer fell in love with a hunting fanatic - and their couple's portraits are being slammed.

Kristyn Higdon, 28, has documented her luxury lifestyle and fashion tips over the past four years.

But her new hobby, hunting live animals, has raised eyebrows and alarm over her 11,000 followers.

The Kentucky blogger has a family of hunters, with her father and grandfather keen on the hobby, but it wasn't until she met now fiance Chad, 33, where she picked up the activity that brought the couple together.

The influencer began sharing images of her on hunting trips, in order to cast a different light on the activity, but reveals she was met with a divided response.

In a throwback photo, Higdon is pictured standing next to her "2019 hunt", posing with the head of a deer mounted on a picket fence.

"I'm so blessed that Chad and I are able to share this passion. Here's to wishing him a successful antelope hunt today," she wrote in the caption.

The image angered social media users, who labelled the hobby "unnecessary" and "violent".

"You are a disgusting excuse for a human. Hopefully one day soon karma finds you," said one user.

While others marvelled at her "skill", widely praising her commitment to the "sport".

"Great capture," said one user.

Higdon has used her growing social platform to advocate for the importance of hunting as an act of "conservation".

The influencer notes she began hunting four years ago, telling the Mail: "For me, it's one-hundred percent about conversation and wildlife management. We also process and eat what we harvest so our meat consumption is sustainable."

"Some people responded positively - especially those who hunt themselves," Higdon said.

But the influencer says social media hasn't been without it's criticisms.

"Others said some nasty things such as "meat is murder", and 2You are a disgusting excuse for a human," Hidgon noted.

The huntress aims to pass down her and her future spouse's hunting tradition down to their family, with a wedding planned for December 2021.
