Hailey Bieber rivals Margot Robbie's theme dressing in sheer black lace dress at Wuthering Heights Sydney premiere

Margot Robbie's been taking her Wuthering Heights-inspired dressing to numerous red carpets, as she premieres the bodice-ripping blockbuster around the world.

And tonight in Sydney was no different, with the Aussie A-lister wearing a "rusted écru" corset top over a semi-sheer fishtail dress as she stepped out at the State Theatre for the final stop of the tour.

The custom Ashi Studio couture dress "evokes 18th-century corsetry", according to the Parisienne fashion house with a hand-painted bodice to make is "appear centuries old".

"Artfully distressed tulle sleeves and skirt are completing the look," the revealed in a social media post.

Co-star Jacob Elordi, who had just flown in from the Oscars luncheon in LA, donned a blue-grey suit as he walked the blue carpet.

However, his ultimate accessory was a gold tooth cap, channelling a look from his film character Heathcliff.

Visiting star Hailey Bieber seemed to have taken note of Robbie's gothic Victorian-inspired fashion efforts along the way, arriving at the Sydney premiere in a sheer black lace gown.

The dress featured a plunging neckline and flute sleeves, with her black hipster briefs showing through.

Bieber, the wife of singer Justin Bieber, just arrived in town to launch her beauty brand Rhode – which sold to e.l.f. Beauty for $US1 billion ($1.4 billion) last year – in Australia.

Other celebrities to attend the special screening on the eve of the movie's worldwide release included Succession and All Her Fault star Sarah Snook.

Supermodel Gemma Ward also channelled the sheer lace dress look while Liam Hemsworth's model fiancée Gabriella Brooks sported a tiered little black dress.

Jessica Rowe and daughter Giselle Overton were among the local celebrities in attendance, both dressed in striking - and on theme - red dresses.

Also walking the red carpet were April Rose Pengelly, Christian Wilkins, Pip Edwards and Laura Dundovic.
