Wearing a great pair of heels during a night out usually comes at a cost, to our poor feet.

While the shoes in question may look stunning, many of us are left with achy and injured feet, particularly to our heels.

Rachel Clinkard who works at family run shoe retailer Charles Clinkard in the UK is all too familiar with this problem, and she has suggested a cheap and easy fix she says works wonders.

She says all you need is a $2 roll-on deodorant to solve the problem forever, The Mirror reports.

This isn't the first time roll-on deodorant has been suggested as a solution for sore heels. Apparently the deodorant acts as a barrier between the shoe and the skin, preventing the pain caused by the shoe rubbing against it.

The deodorant can be used instead of bandaids, plasters and other products solved for the same reason, including gel inserts.

Reddit has discussed the issue of sore feet, with the 'Ask Women' thread coming up with other solutions to the common problem.

Some suggest more expensive heels hurt less than their cheaper counterparts.

"Definitely depends on the shoe. There are cute heels that are not (or less) painful, but you will end up paying more for them," writes one.

Others suggest it is all in how you walk in heels.

"Practice walking properly in a heel, with your abs engaged, good posture, good foot placement, not stomping too hard with each step," one explains.

One Reddit follower says pain is the price they pay for wearing a cute pair of heels.

"I will admit that I love the feeling of taking said heels off after a long night of looking good. It is this burst of pain followed by such insanely awesome relief," they comment.

Others say it is a matter of wearing them in.

"For me a new pair of heels normally hurts the first time I wear it, but after that the shoes usually soften up and they don't hurt anymore," one person writes.
