‘From Robert to Bob’: Carrie Bickmore’s last-minute Logies transformation turns heads
One of the most daring looks on the 2026 Logies red carpet wasn’t worn – but cut.
In an 11th-hour move, Carrie Bickmore opted for the big chop just “minutes” prior to Australian television’s night of nights – leaving a considerable amount of her once-lengthy locks on the cutting room floor.

As if her Alex Perry leopard ensemble wasn’t enough of a showstopper, the radio and TV personality debuted one of the biggest talking points of the night: a bob.
Taking to Instagram to document the dramatic change, Bickmore posted a sneak peek into the process behind the bold decision.
In the ensuing series of Instagram story posts, she playfully quipped “from Robert to Bob” – alluding to first-time Logies host Robert Irwin.

The radio presenter’s long blonde blowout had been a signature look throughout her career – but according to the hairstylist responsible for the high-speed chop and change, she’d been umming and ahhing about some form of hair transformation for a while.
And when the big day rolled around, the directive from Bickmore’s stylist came as a last-minute surprise to Marie Uva of Uva Salon.
“I got to the room and Elliott [Garnaut], her stylist was like, ‘OK, we’re going short’ – and I was like, what?” Uva told nine.com.au.

The look was a quick-fire process – completed only “minutes” prior to Bickmore’s Logies red carpet appearance.
But most shockingly, Uva went on to reveal the chop was actually all smoke and mirrors – the result of cleverly cut extensions and braids – and not a real bob at all.
“So what I did was use extensions to cut the bob, but I hid Carrie’s hair and braided her hair in between the extensions,” she explained.
But according to Uva, the positive response has Bickmore weighing up whether a genuine bob transformation may soon be on the cards.
“She’s got today to decide, but I think everyone’s gonna encourage her to cut her hair.”
“Every once in a while you’ve just got to get [a bob] out of your system.” Getty
Off the back of celebrity hair transformations the likes of Margot Robbie, Emma Stone and Zendaya, Uva says the bob is “absolutely” about to have a resurgence.
“Every once in a while you’ve just got to get [a bob] out of your system,” Uva said.
Turns out celebrities really are just like us – and when in need of a dramatic change, their hair is the first to go.
