Designer bags and double denim: We can’t get enough of Erling Haaland

In a World Cup full of household names, his is the one on everyone’s lips – and not just because of his prowess on the football field.
At 25, Norway’s striker Erling Haaland has captivated the world with his incredible performance, helping lead his national team to its first-ever quarterfinal in the tournament, and has become the King of Social Media, adding millions of new followers to his every move. But we’re here to talk about his equally compelling sense of style.

When he’s not in his football kit or tracksuits, Haaland – who also plays for Manchester City in the English Premier League – is a seriously snappy dresser, and boasts a designer handbag collection that would make any fashion lover weep.
While his 54 million Instagram followers are saving, sharing and double tapping a catalogue of off-field looks − double denim, stylish outerwear, cosy knits and matching sets − on field it’s all about the subtle details, like woven scrunchies matched to the colour of his kits, tying up his famous blonde locks.

But it’s the bags we really can’t tear our eyes away from.
Haaland has a collection for the ages, with carry-alls, travel bags and suitcases from some of the world’s top designers. Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton: the gang’s all here!
Of course, there are Birkins – arguably the world’s most coveted bag – in the mix, along with some rare editions of Hermès’ Haut à Courroies (HAC), one of which he carried as he arrived in the US for the World Cup.

Naturally, a collection like this does not come cheap.
It’s tricky to put an exact price tag on his bags – many are no longer available to buy outright, only on the second-hand market – but even the roughest estimate will make your eyes water.
A Hermès Birkin, for instance, retails for upwards of $AU16,000 depending on the style, while the ‘Endless Road’ HAC seen on Haaland’s arm as he disembarked in the States last month can fetch up to $50,000 in the reseller market, depending on the condition.
As Vogue notes, Haaland’s bag lineup includes Chanel’s Métiers d’art Suitcase ($13,000+), and Louis Vuitton’s Keepall 50B Landscape Travel Bag (no longer available) and Keepall Bandoulière 50 Comics bag ($5000+).

There’s also Goyard’s Satolas GM Rolling Suitcase ($21,000+) and Jouvence MM Toiletry Bag ($2800+), and Hermès’ Evercalf Toile Cargo HAC 40 ($60,000+) and Kelly Depeches 25 ($13,000+).
If Norway takes home the World Cup, perhaps its striker will celebrate by adding a new aquisition to his wardrobe. At the very least, he’s returning to the UK with more than 6 million more fans in the bag.
