'Thought I was crazy': Terrifying find in second-hand sofa

A family got the shock of their lives after a terrifying find inside their sofa.

Posting to TikTok, a woman named Samantha Hardin revealed that her husband bought a couch from someone he worked with, only to find something hidden inside.

In the video, the husband tipped over the couch to look inside, only to find a little furry friend – aka, his co-worker's cat.

It seems that at some time during the transfer of furniture, the family pet hopped in, not knowing where it was going to end up.

Hardin's family also couldn't believe their discovery.

"My husband thought I was crazy because I kept telling him I heard a cat," she shared in the caption of the video, "until I finally located it in the couch.

"The guy [they bought the couch from] didn't answer and it was late when I finally found [the cat], so after we got it out I had to put it in a cage to keep my dogs away," she explained.

"Thankfully my daughter let her go back to her home with no tears!" Hardin confirmed the kitty was returned the next morning.

Commenters found the series of events hilarious.

"From the cat's perspective they just discovered teleportation," joked one commenter.

"Imagine sleeping and waking up in a different house, kinda funny though," another added.

"That's your cat now sold as seen lol," one said.

"So you got a bargain," another concluded.

"Sweet must've been so scared. What an adventure," one said.

It's not the first time a cat has gotten stuck in the couch.

One year ago, a lost family cat was discovered in the most unexpected place three weeks after going missing.

The beloved pet, Sunny-Loo, belonged to the Hanson family in America who were moving from Washington to Colorado where dad Andy was starting a new job.

When the movers had arrived to pack up their home, however, Sunny-Loo ran and hid.

The family assumed she was hiding somewhere in the house, but she was missing for days.

They enlisted friends and neighbours to help look for the cat, but eventually had no choice but to board the flight to Colorado without their beloved pet, while those in Washington continued the search.

But just as they lost hope, Sunny-Loo came back right to their doorstep, along with their furniture when it finally arrived after a three-week delay.

"So the moving truck came, and they unloaded our stuff... They brought in our Hide-a-Bed sofa, and we put it down and started to unwrap it," Andy said.

But as they did so, the girls heard a little "meow" coming from the sofa.

They quickly discovered a little hole that Sunny-Loo had escaped into, not knowing that the sofa would then be loaded into a truck.

The kitty was understandably emaciated after the ordeal, having gone without food and water for almost a month.
