Tiff Hall knows all too well the pressure women are put under when their body starts changing in pregnancy and in the months after giving birth.

The mum-of-two has been candid about how much her body changed in and after pregnancy, and that's why she pushes the 'bounce forward' mentality.

In an interview with Today Extra's Sylvia Jeffreys and David Campbell, she said some of the comments people made to her face when she was pregnant were horrible.

"It's really toxic to be comparing yourself to other people," she said.

"I mean, I was in the public eye pregnant and I put on, I think I reached triple digits in my pregnancies, and my body changed a lot.

"And people were saying things to me like, 'Are you scared you're not fit anymore?' or 'You've lost your fitness', 'You've lost your body, you'll never get it back', terrible things."

The comments have become something Aussie star Margot Robbie has also copped during her pregnancy.

Tiff admitted her weight reached the triple digits in her pregnancies and said the pressure to just bounce back is toxic. Instagram

"What's happening to Margot is just vile," Hall said.

"I've read some of the comments online, and I did an episode on my podcast Bounce Forward about this, and that's why I'm always pushing 'bouncing forward' and not bouncing back."

Hall believes you just need to block out the noise and have a lot of self-compassion, especially in the fourth trimester, and not worry about bouncing back.

While she touts the physical health benefits of exercise, Hall also believes in the power of exercise for mental health.

"It's a thing that gives you life force and energy and endorphins and it's good for your mental health," Hall explains.

"[I want to help my kids] understand that movement helps your brain – So I'm trying to teach them that I think it's really important to talk about mental health and to have that balance between the physical and the mental as well."
