'It's never punishment': What Tiffiny Hall wants to teach her kids about food and exercise
Fitness is a big part of Tiffiny Hall's world and although she recently revealed that she and her partner Ed Kavalee refuse to train together it is still a big part of their family life.
Hall and Kavalee share two children together and are determined to raise their kids with a healthy mindset around food and exercise.
"I want them to grow up being healthy," Hall tells 9honey.

With more than 20 years in the industry as a fitness trainer, Hall has a wealth of knowledge on the topic to pass on to her kids. But if she had to choose the most important lessons to impart, Hall has two simple answers.
When it comes to food, Hall wants to teach her kids not to demonise any type of food.
"[I would want to teach them] that there are no good or bad foods and that you shouldn't label them as 'good' or 'bad,'" Hall explains.
"You can enjoy everything but you've got to listen to your body and have it in moderation and I'm trying to teach [my kids] that."

Hall continued to explain that as a prominent figure in the fitness industry people tend to expect her to have strict rules around food.
"Everyone expects me to be sugar free but I'm not," she explains.
"My kids have sugar, they enjoy treats, they love it. And it's because they're not deprived of treats that they don't binge on treats or ask for them or nag for them all the time."
Hall continued to share that she believes in the 80/20 rule.
"I think it's really important that they [eat] healthy 80 per cent of the time and then 20 per cent treats," she said.
When it comes to exercise, Hall has a similar lesson to share.
"With exercise, it's the same rule. I want them to not think exercise is good or bad or a punishment," she explains.
"I want them to think that exercise is always fun, so I'm exposing them to lots of different types of movement from gymnastics to taekwondo, to soccer, to basketball, to football, to swimming and once they choose what they like to do the most I'll hone in on that.
"But I'm just making sure that it's fun and it's game-based and it's never punishment."

Hall's determination to raise her kids with this mindset comes from the way she was raised.
"I grew up in a fitness family. Both my parents are martial arts instructors and fitness instructors and they always were really active with us. We did taekwondo as a family, we would go on bike rides and go surfing," she says.
"We were always active and I really learnt so much from parents in that and I want to give that to my kids as well so that they have a healthy relationship with exercise being fun and a healthy relationship with food as well. It's really important to me."

As well as teaching her kids these lessons, she hopes to lead by example explaining that she wants to be a "role model" for her kids.
"I want them to see a mum that's being active."
While she touts the physical health benefits of exercise, Hall also believes in the power of exercise for mental health.
"It's a thing that gives you life force and energy and endorphins and it's good for your mental health," Hall explains.
"[I want to help my kids] understand that movement helps your brain – So I'm trying to teach them that I think it's really important to talk about mental health and to have that balance between the physical and the mental as well."
