Would you ever dump your kid with a stranger at the park to go get a coffee? Well, probably not.

But it turns out this is a common request TikToker Tiny Sparks gets when parents find out she's a nanny.

Sharing a video on the platform, she explained that during her most recent nanny job she was 24, the child was two, and they both had blonde hair, making it easy for other mums at the park to assume she was the parent and they treated her as such.

But things changed when her employer was unexpectedly home for lunch and wanted to have lunch with her kid.

Nanny reveals one comment she gets when people find out she's working

"So I call the kid and go, 'Hey, your mum's home for lunch! Let's go have some lunch with her!' and the entire tone of the group [of park mums] changes," she recalled.

The next time Sparks saw the other mums at the park, things had changed.

"They're kind of whispering a little bit," she said.

"I'm getting that sensation that I'm being talked about without me there. But whatever! Nobody is being mean.

"But they send one person over, and there it is: 'Hey, we were thinking about running out for coffee real quick. Would it be alright with you if you watch the kids for us just a little bit? Twenty minutes maybe at most, just to go get coffee.'"

Nanny reveals one comment she gets when people find out she's working

While it might seem outrageous, turns out there are plenty of other people who have been through this situation. TikTok/@tinysparksvixen

"It always eventually happens," Sparks added.

"It does. They find out you're the nanny, and they think that because you're on the clock you're automatically their nanny.

"Your kid is interacting with theirs and as a byproduct you're responsible for both in their eyes."

Now, while some people might get caught up in the awkwardness, Sparks puts her foot down straight up and lets them know she can't take on additional work when this child is in her care, which generally shuts it down.

"I'm not a nanny just a SAHM and I experience this a lot. Because I'm playing w my kids, mums act like it's my job to watch their kids while they sit in groups and chat. I'm sorry if I'm the fun mum," replied another user.

Another commented, "I must have resting nanny face because this STILL happens with my OWN KID to this day."
