As a mum of three under age four, Indy Clinton knows all too well what being sleep deprived means, so it's a fitting name for her podcast.

The influencer has never been one to shy away from sharing the reality of motherhood on TikTok and Instagram, and opens herself up in a raw and vulnerable way on her Sleep Deprived podcast, something she's so proud of.

"There's a taboo with motherhood where things shouldn't be spoken about," the 26-year-old told 9Honey.

"You know, whether that's your haemorrhoids or your leaky tits or even something as simple as feeding a baby.

"Mums are so embarrassed because there's pressure from society on them not to feed their babies in public – not to whip out their boobs – but you should see me I am like, if I whip out my boobs in public to feed my baby and if people stare, I'm like, 'Stop staring at me creep, I'm feeding my child'.

"I wanna be that person that can break down what society has made a taboo because at the end of the day, we're all just mothering."

Indy said at the end of the day we're all just trying to survive and keep these babies alive and happy, which is also why she shares the reality of motherhood, with the good and the bad.

"A lot of influencers out there aren't being very open," she explained.

"It's all about just showing your best self and putting your best life out there or pretending, whatever they want to call it.

"But for me creating that friendship relationship where it's like they're FaceTiming their bestie and I have received so many comments that it feels like they're FaceTiming their best friend."

Indy has a huge following on TikTok, but wanted to have another way to connect with her audience on a deeper level.

"I just kind of wanted to do this podcast where I can give them a platform where I could be completely vulnerable and raw and just kinda open up kind of give them what they deserve."

And when it comes to being open, turns out Indy is struggling through the hard parts of motherhood just like the rest of us. And even after three kids, sleep regressions don't get any easier.

"I don't know who the hell designed regressions. But oh my God, they're really hard," she said.

"I'm actually finding this time around really hard because Soul's in her four-month regression and Bambi's in her 18-month regression and Navy, he's always just wanting to be with his mummy.

"So it's, it's a lot."

Soul's sleep disruptions are milestone based so Indy laughed that she's trying to do everything she can to help her learn how to roll.

"I'm there like with her on the floor trying to push her over to roll, like can we speed up this process? So you can sleep through the night?" she said.

"But one of my tips would be a bottle of wine and some earplugs and let dad look after it and do the work."

While Indy admits she's learnt a lot about herself through Season 1 of the podcast, a big thing she learnt is that she can't help finishing other people's sentences.

"I'll be chatting to someone, I'll ask them a question and then I get so excited, I want to finish that sentence," she laughed.

"I've definitely learned that about myself, that I need to shut up and listen to what the other person has to say."

"[But] what I've learned about myself is that I wanna be heard and I wanna have adult conversations.

"I really enjoy talking to adults and asking questions and listening to stories because when you're a mum, a full-time mum with young kids, you don't get that day to day."
