Beautiful meaning behind Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge's daughter's name revealed
Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge are parents!
The couple recently welcomed their first child together, a baby girl and her name has a beautiful meaning.
"Eloise Samantha Grainge 🤍 5•20•24 best day of my life 🤍," Richie captioned a black-and-white photo of her daughter's feet announcing her arrival.

The middle name Samantha has a special significance to the couple.
Samantha honours Grainge's mum, Samantha Berg, who suffered complications during childbirth which led to a coma that she was in until she died in 2007.
The name is seemingly a nod to a similar tradition with Richie's name.
Richie, whose middle name is Alexandra, appears to honour her own mum Diane Alexander.
The couple have not revealed where the name Eloise came from, however according to Nameberry the name is of French and English origin meaning "healthy, wide."

The couple announced their pregnancy through a spread in Vogue magazine in January 2024.
At the time Richie opened up about how much she's enjoyed pregnancy and this new chapter of her life.
"I've learned more in the past six months than I have in my entire life," she told Vogue.
"And also, just like what the female body is capable of. Every week brings new things, whether it's hormonal shifts or expansion – there's just so much our bodies go through, and it's so interesting to experience it all."

In the months leading up to their daughter's arrival Richie and Grainge did a gender reveal, popping a confetti cannon together at home.
She's also been sharing snippets of her pregnancy journey, the most recent one a side profile, showing off her gorgeous bump.
"9 months of bliss," she captioned the post, counting down the days.
