Mum's Elf on the Shelf party will take the stress out of December completely
December is literally just days away now, so this is your official warning to start thinking about Elf on the Shelf – and find where you hid it last year.
Now, if you're stressing about how you're going to come up with all the ideas to get you through the lead up to Christmas Day, one mum has the best idea for you.
Instead of trying to come up with every single idea yourself, it's time to call in the reinforcements – aka your mum friends – to have an Elf on the Shelf exchange party.
Watch the video above.
Kelsey Simas shared her friend's Elf exchange party and honestly it's one of the best hacks we've seen for Christmas. Instagram
Kelsey Simas shared the video on her Instagram and explained her friend came up with the idea.
"Grab 23 of your girlfriends (24 including you!!) and host an Elf on the Shelf exchange party!" read the caption.
"It's the cookie exchange party of our generation. Each friend comes up with their own unique idea for the elf and creates 24 identical kits. Bring your kits with you to the party and exchange!
"Everyone leaves with 24 amazingly creative and fun things for their elf to do leading up to Christmas. I'm telling you… any stress the elf was causing me LEFT THE BUILDING as I walked out of this fun event. Not only did this party save Christmas, but it was so fun to get together with some amazing women before all the holiday craziness begins."

Each person brings one idea, but replicated 24 times, so you only need to think once and share it with the rest of the group. Instagram
It takes all of the mental load away from trying to come up with 25 ideas, and also a nice change to actually spend time with some of your friends before the chaos of the festive season kicks off.
"OK this is AMAZING!" commented one person.
Another replied, "OMG genius!!! Or you just never get an elf lol but if you do … genius!!"
Then you'll head home with an Elf idea for every day, ready to go - without the stress! Instagram
Now, if you don't have 24 friends to do this with (Hello school mums) you could divvy the days up for a smaller group and each bring two or three ideas, no matter what it's still going to work out a lot better for you than trying to come up with ideas for every single day.
