Former reality star Alex Nation shares some tough 'truths' about her relationship after having kids
Having kids can really change your relationship with your partner, and Alex Nation has shared some hard truths in a really raw post about the situation.
The former reality star and her partner Carson share two kids, and she has a son from a previous relationship. On Instagram, Nation got real about how much of a challenge it's been to navigate their relationship after having kids.
While she often posts gorgeous family moments or loved-up snaps with him, the mum of three stressed that what you see isn't always the full story.
"Social media is a highlight reel. Here are some truths about our relationship after having two children together," she captioned the first image in her post.

Nation went on to reveal some of the things they've been struggling with since becoming parents, including wondering if the grass is really greener elsewhere.
"There has been a significant lack of emotional connection and intimacy," she wrote alongside a shot of them cuddled up together and laughing.
"Financial / work pressures get the better of us both and we are quick to lash out at each other over financial stresses. We argue and unfortunately we sometimes argue in front of our kids.
"We sometimes miss the life that we had prior to each other and our children. The freedom of independence."
The captions were placed over lovely pictures, including the couple cuddled up with her kids, their arms wrapped around each other – all looking like perfect moments.

From resentment to arguments and even wondering if there's something better out there she let it all out. Instagram
"We have built up resentment towards each other that we haven't dealt with properly yet," she continued.
"I'm almost certain we have both had the 'Is the grass greener?' thought."
In the caption of the post, the former Bachelor star opened up and shared a personal message to let others who might be feeling a similar way to know they're not alone.
"Navigating us after our children has been a colossal challenge," she started.
"Often sitting in feelings of frustration and resentment. Things are just so exacerbated in parenthood aren't they!?
"I feel like all we've done for the last few years is work on ironing out the kinks and repair the cracks that appeared after we had our kids."

Nation explained she's felt so alone and like a failure more times than she'd like to admit, but she's trying hard for this relationship.
"So, if this is you and you're in the depths of post children, relationship f---ery.. you are not alone," the post finished.
The post hit close to home for so many people who praised her for sharing it.
"You are so brave for sharing the reality of what it's actually like for so many," commented one person.
Another woman commented, "Definitely the parts no one talks about."

Others just thanked her for being so open with such a refreshing and raw post, which made a lot of people see they aren't alone going through things like this.
