Model Rachel Hunter reveals airport question that made her cry

Model Rachel Hunter has revealed a simple question asked by officials when she landed in her native New Zealand made her cry with gratitude.

Hunter, 51, who arrived in Auckland from the USA, said a border worker asked her about her mental health.

"I was asked a question at the border that meant the world to me... how is your mental health?" she wrote on Instagram.

"Tears welled up in my eyes, tears kept coming. This is so important as we all know or some are learning and acknowledging this.

"Please, please take care of self and be there for others. Reach out."

The model, who is also a yoga and meditation teacher, also praised the nation's leader, Jacinda Ardern.

Hunter wrote she was "feeling safe after having tears throughout the day, of relief", and said she is now in quarantine.

Only New Zealanders are allowed to enter the country and must stay in a designated hotel for 14 days, with most now footing the $3100 cost.

The model didn't say where she was staying.

At the end of December Hunter wrote about a reflective post saying the year had "brought up... fear, tears, anxiety, constantly questioning our health, wanting to see loved ones, families. Hug our kids. Seeing them 6ft away not being able to hug them."

She has also posted praising frontline health workers working during the pandemic.
