Family's hilarious prank Christmas cards leave the internet in stitches

A family has taken the internet by storm with their hilarious prank Christmas cards, sharing some of the best ones from the last decades.

Laura and Mike Bergeron started sending the comedy cards in 2003, when they decided to dress up for a silly Christmas photo and send it to their families on a festive card.

"Somehow we came up with the idea to dress up as different characters and make their holiday cards for everyone we knew," Mike told BoredPanda.

Their first card's theme was 'Forty and fighting it' and saw the pair don outdated outfits, including a bad tan and fake hair for Mike.

When that card was a hit with the relatives, the Bergerons decided to turn it into a tradition and have been dressing up for their hilarious holiday photos ever since.

In 2010 they had a 'Hotstacks, Lumberjacks and Nice Racks' themed card, which saw Mike and his then two-month-old daughter Gigi dressed in matching flannels and beards while Laura posed with pancakes.

And when their second daughter, Juju, was born the family had even more to work with, getting both girls involved with the tradition.

In 2017 the family donned matching sunburns and red wigs for their 'Gingers in Paradise' card.

And just last year the couple's two daughters took centre stage as two toddler pageant queens in the family's 'The West Texans' card, Mike and Laura sporting odd denim looks in the background.

"As our family grew, so grew the ideas about what we could do with the cards and the concept took on a whole new dimension," Mike said.

Now, 17 years since they sent their first card, Mike and Laura have shared their latest creation 'A Bookie's Family Holiday'.

In the photo Mike is dressed like a sleazy bookkeeper, while Laura and one of their daughters donned similar themed outfits.

But the couple's other daughter, Gigi, wasn't keen on the family theme and insisted she wanted to dress as a goth for the card, making the already funny photo even more hilarious.

The cards have been a hit with the internet, Mike sharing a few to Christmas pages on Facebook over the years and receiving plenty of praise for the brilliant idea.

"Your family is beyond awesome for both of the girls to be so game for these holiday cards each year," one person wrote in response to this year's card.

"Already looking forward to next year's!"

Now the only thing Mike is worried about is how he and Laura will keep coming up with new ideas for their cards.
