Bridgerton and The Crown are filming in the same locations, and it's about to become an issue

If you're a fan of The Crown who felt an overwhelming sense of deja vu while watching Bridgerton, you're not alone.

Royal connections, fancy jewels and high-society British accents aside, it seems the two Netflix shows also have some filming locations in common — and it could become an issue off-screen in the near future.

The eagle-eyed TV sleuths of TikTok have pointed out certain scenes in the two shows have been filmed on the same set.

Take, for instance, this marigold-hued room occupied by both The Crown's Queen Elizabeth and Bridgerton's Duke of Hastings, pointed out by @rakhee_81:

Curiously, despite the shows being set 177 years apart, the decor has scarcely changed...

The set in question is Wilton House, a stately home in England that provided many of the interior shots for The Crown's version of Buckingham Palace.

The room used as the Queen's study and the Duke of Hastings' office is the Large Smoking Room, pictured above.

Another part of the centuries-old manor appeared in both shows — as the room where Bridgerton's debutantes made their entrance, and where Princess Diana undertook dance classes.

That's not the only double-up.

Another viewer noticed the room where Daphne Bridgerton and the Duke meet with Queen Charlotte is the same one one Princess Diana rollerbladed through in The Crown.

These scenes were both filmed in the Long Gallery of Lancaster House in London.

Given the aristocratic settings of Bridgerton and The Crown, it's only natural there would be some overlap in the available filming locations, namely stately homes around the UK.

However, according to The Sun, there are going to be some major clashes over sets in 2021 as both shows continue filming their next seasons.

Wilton House will once again be in demand, along with Somerley House, which serves as Bridgerton's Somerset House and The Crown's Highgrove Estate, i.e. Prince Charles' country home.

"There are only so many stately homes that work for filming. It's a real headache," a source tells the publication.

Ultimately, the source predicts Netflix will need to decide which series takes precedent.

Funnily enough, the real-life royal family has also interfered (slightly) with Bridgerton's production.

The scene at Lancaster House where Daphne and the duke speak to Queen Charlotte had to be filmed quickly because the space was required by, well, the actual Queen.

"We had very limited time to shoot this scene before Her Majesty (the real one) needed the space @ Lancaster House, London," executive producer Chris Van Dusen revealed on Twitter.
