Mum investigated over baby drowning death

A mother is being investigated by police after her baby drowned in the bathtub.

There are claims Kayla Lynton, 23, was on Facebook during the 'ten minute window' during which six-month-old Naomi died and she may be charged with neglect.

The mum allegedly told authorities she'd left her daughter in the bath to use the toilet.

"Kayla does not know what to do with herself," Ms Lynton's lawyer Ofer Bartal tells The Mirror. "After she saw Naomi unconscious she tried to resuscitate her and she called emergency workers and the police."

Naomi was rushed to hospital and remained in a coma for a week before dying.

Ms Lynton was arrested in Tel Aviv in July and released on bond. She is waiting to hear if she'll be indicted over her daughter's death.

The mother-of-two is married to a British recruitment worker, Ilan Lynton, who reportedly found his daughter unconscious under the water.

The couple also has an older daughter, Elizabeth, 2. It is understood they have separated since the death of their youngest daughter.

Ms Lynton is facing a possible nine-year prison sentence.

"Kayla was interrogated on the day it happened but released the same day," a source tells Mirror Online. 

"Now she has been questioned one more time."
