Filming kicks off on Younger Season 7 after coronavirus pandemic delayed production

The wait to find out if Liza will choose Charles or Josh just got a little shorter with the cast of Younger back at work much earlier than expected.

Filming on Season 7 is underway and the stars of the show couldn't be more excited about it, if the photos they've been sharing on social media from the set are anything to go by.

Hilary Duff, who plays Kelsey, is clearly embracing COVID-19 safety procedures by wearing a mask in her images.

"I know it doesn't look like it here... but I am so very happy to be back at work," she captioned the picture in her Instagram story.

Her co-star Molly Bernard, who portrays Lauren, had some fun with Duff while waiting to shoot their latest scenes.

Leading lady Sutton Foster, who plays Liza, was prepping hard for the shoot, with her social media post showing a photo of the latest scripts and some new stationery to highlight her dialogue.

Nico Tortorella was also maintaining hygiene protocols before shooting a scene in Josh's apartment set.

They were so excited to be back filming they had to remind their on-screen counterpart to chill out.

Production on Season 7 was halted earlier this year at the height of the coronavirus pandemic and wasn't expected to start until March 2021.

This means we could get episodes much sooner than expected, but this might be bittersweet news for fans as creator Darren Star has hinted Season 7 may be the show's last.

"We are unofficially planning [Season 7] as a final season," he told TVLine last month. Star also revealed that storylines will kick off where Season 6 ended, but could potentially incorporate the pandemic in later episodes.

In the time between Seasons 6 and 7, Hilary Duff also gave birth to her daughter Banks.

Fans will remember Season 6 concluded with Charles dropping a bombshell marriage proposal on Liza, while Josh is still very much in love with her and clinging to hope that he is the one she truly loves.

Meanwhile, Kelsey made the bold decision to leave the company but was lured back to Millennial by Charles, and Diana married Enzo.

Though there is still a while to wait before we get to find out what happens next, fortunately all six seasons of Younger are available to binge on Stan.
