There's a couple of things you should know about the man with the world's tallest hat.

The first is that he looks exactly like you'd imagine.

The second is that it will take you a while to scroll from the top to the bottom of this photo.

The third is that, according to the Tampa Bay Times, there is no evidence this man actually exists.

Odilon Ozare was crowned by the Guinness Book of Records as the creator of the world's tallest hat.

The stovepipe behemoth is 4.8m tall.

How tall is that?

Well, it's as tall as three Kelly Clarksons stacked on top of one another.

Ozare has become a local celebrity in the Florida city of Tampa, throwing the first pitch at a minor league baseball game and serving as grand marshal of a sausage dog race.

Ozare has seven cockatiels, all named after Barbra Streisand albums, and said he fled the nation of Brunei after they criminalised wearing Santa hats.

And the Tampa Bay Times says there is no record of his existence. There is no driver's license, phone or address records or voter registration under the name Odilon Ozare.

But we've seen enough photos to conclude Ozare is a real person who may not officially go by that name.

And if all we read in the news is any indication, Ozare may be the least eccentric person in Florida.
