Australian television star dies aged 30
Australian television star Tayla Meath has died aged 30 following an “incredibly difficult battle with cancer”.
Meath was best known to viewers for her appearances on The Dog House Australia, where she worked at an animal shelter helping abandoned dogs find their forever homes.

The program confirmed her death in an emotional tribute, remembering Meath for the love and care she showed animals throughout her time on the show.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Tayla, after a long and incredibly difficult battle with cancer,” the statement began.
“Tayla will be remembered for the extraordinary love, kindness and care she showed our four-legged friends through The Dog House Australia, and for the lasting impact she made on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
“Our hearts go out to her family, friends and all who loved her during this incredibly difficult time.
“Working with animals wasn’t just a job for Tayla. It was her passion and a huge part of who she was,” the tribute continued.
“She loved being able to help give dogs the second chance they deserved and to play a small part in finding them their forever homes.”
Meath was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma in 2024, when she was just 27.
Her health deteriorated earlier this year after the cancer in her liver grew and caused multiple bile duct blockages.

After doctors exhausted treatment options, Meath returned home to spend her remaining time with her loved ones.
She died on September 1 surrounded by family.
“Tayla’s journey was long and painful, but she never gave up. She fought every single day,” a message shared on a GoFundMe for her family read.
“She lived, she loved, she laughed, and she kept pushing forward even when things were incredibly hard.”

The fundraiser has raised more than $36,000, with her loved ones now preparing a celebration of her life.
“Cancer may have taken Tayla from us, but it could never take away the mark she left on the people around her,” the tribute read.
“She will live on through every person she touched, every friendship she made, every laugh she shared, and every life she made brighter simply by being in it.“
Meath leaves behind her husband Curtis and their three-year-old Labrador, Archie.
