We're betting you've never had a day at work as bad as this guy

We've all had bad days at work, but few of us have had one quite a bad as this poor driver.

Cruising down Canada's 401 Highway yesterday, this driver was just trying to get from A to B.

And everything was going fine.

The expressway was relatively clear, there was no snow on the road and the end of 2016 was only two days away.

Happy days.

And then the driver would have heard the deafening bang of regret.

Because the poor fellow had left the dump truck's bucket raised, and it hit an overhead pass with the force of a thousand frustrated slaps to the head.

Thankfully for us, the whole thing was caught on tape and uploaded to YouTube by Janelle Courchesne.

"Heading for lunch with my friend Carlos and this happened," she says in severely understated description for the magnificent clip, which is now deservedly going viral after being posted to Reddit.

The collision knocked the bucket clean off while the truck kept going, in a sequence which looks like something out of an early Warner Bros cartoon.

Canadian news agency 680news reports that the driver sustained no injuries, but we reckon the driver's pride would have copped an absolute pounding.

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation had to give the bridge a thorough once over to suss out the damage to the bridge and traffic was blocked for hours as the debris was cleared off the highway.

The driver has been charged with careless driving as well as driving with an over height vehicle.
