Wedding proposal goes terribly wrong for Mexican couple

When Mexican man German Giles proposed to his girlfriend, no-one was prepared for her reaction.

A live band played gently in the background while Giles handed his partner Reyna Renteria a jewellery box containing the engagement ring.

But, instead of happily saying yes, Renteria fainted, hitting the deck before anyone could catch her.

Luckily, despite the bad fall, Renteria was not hurt and, after coming to, said "yes".

Seeing the humour in the situation, the newly engaged woman uploaded the video to Facebook, where it quickly went viral, accumulating more than four million views in less than a week.

"I’m excited, disbelieving, shocked, but happy and safe," Renteria wrote in Spanish in a Facebook post.
