Crime drama the UK can't get enough of is finally coming to Australia

It's taken the UK by storm, earning critical praise and record-breaking viewership, and now Australian audiences can dive into the dark underworld of Liverpool too.

Crime drama This City Is Ours arrives on our shores on June 4, exclusively on Stan, starring Sean Bean as cocaine-smuggling gangster Ronnie Phelan.

The brand new series This City Is Ours will premiere June 4 exclusively on Stan.

After launching in the UK, the series quickly became the BBC's most watched new drama launch of 2025 and was swiftly renewed for a second season.

Critically, the series earned plenty of praise – especially for its charismatic performances.

Joining Bean in the cast are James Nelson-Joyce (Bird) as Ronnie's friend Michael Kavanagh, Hannah Onslow (Empire of Light) as Diana Williams, Michael's partner, Jack McMullen (Hijack) as Ronnie's son Jamie Phelan and Julie Graham (Shetland), head of the Phelan family alongside her husband Ronnie.

The eight-part drama also stars Laura Aikman (Archie), Kevin Harvey (Treason), Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Derry Girls), Mike Noble (Shardlake), Bobby Schofield (SAS Rogue Heroes), Darci Shaw (Judy), and Stephen Walters (Slow Horses).

Set and filmed in Liverpool, This City is Ours follows Michael, who has been involved in organised crime for his entire adult life. However, now he is in love for the first time, giving him something to win and something to lose.

Telling the story of Michael and Diana's love affair, the series is set against the disintegration of Michael's crime gang.

When a shipment of the gang's cocaine goes missing, it becomes clear that the groups kingdom is under attack.

Across eight episodes, This City Is Ours is an addictive story about family and love, destroyed and corrupted by ambition, pride and greed.

Come June 4, Aussie viewers will at last get to join the family as well.
