Exclusive: 'It was a complete whirlwind': Lucina Innocence on her emotional exit from Drag Race Down Under
Lucina Innocence, the Auckland queen known for her exquisite wig styling and live vocal performances, bid farewell to Drag Race Down Under Season 4 in the fourth episode.

Standing at an impressive over two metres tall in heels, Lucina entered the Werk Room with a reputation as a versatile talent.
Despite her undeniable skills, her journey on the show came to an end this week during a lip-sync performance of Moving Pictures'What About Me – leaving fans stunned.

Reflecting on her time in the competition, Lucina described the experience as nothing short of extraordinary.
"It was a complete whirlwind. It feels like it just flashed by so fast, but it was such a cool experience, and I'm very happy that I got to be a part of it," she shared to 9Entertainment.

This season marked Lucina's third attempt at joining the Drag Race franchise. "I came pretty close to being on Season 2," she revealed. "So I used that to not give up and keep on trying. And, I finally got there in the end."
What about Lucina? It Isn't Fair!
While Lucina's signature style and talents earned her a devoted fan base, she admitted that competing on the show presented challenges she hadn't anticipated.
"I definitely didn't think I would struggle as much as I did," she said. "It was frustrating that I wasn't able to pull myself out of the spiral I was in."
Some of her fellow queens underestimated her, which added to the difficulty. "I wasn't so much bothered about them underestimating me," Lucina explained.
"I was more upset with myself for not showing my full capabilities. They could only judge based on what they'd seen, and I wasn't at my best."

Lucina's final lip sync
Lucina's final lip sync to Moving Pictures' What About Me was a poignant moment that resonated deeply with fans. "Lyrically, it was perfect for the moment and how I was feeling at the time," she reflected. "I kind of knew I was going home regardless, but I just went into my own zone and used all that emotion as ammo."
Her heartfelt performance left no dry eyes in the room, a testament to her ability to channel raw emotion into art.
When asked what she might do differently if given another shot, Lucina didn't hesitate. "Pre-show, I would check on the progress of my runway looks," she admitted.
"And I'd come out of my shell more, not get caught up in the voices in my head. Oh, and I definitely wouldn't have picked up those pink roses in the design challenge!"
As for who she thinks should have joined her in the bottom during her final challenge, Lucina diplomatically avoided naming names but suggested that her "dear sister Brenda [Bressed]" might have been a better fit.
On new host Michelle Visage
Lucina also had high praise for this season's host, Michelle Visage.
"She was really lovely and very genuine," Lucina said.

"Whenever she gave critiques, even if they were more negative, she always followed them up with words of wisdom and advice. And she looks stunning in person as well."
What's next for Lucina
The future is looking bright for Lucina. She recently relocated to Melbourne and is excited about exploring new opportunities.

"I'll be around other Australian cities more, and I want to put out some music at some point," she teased.
"For now, I'm just going to keep being me."
