If you're from one of those families where everyone has their own assigned seats this might upset you.

They're not explicated written on a seating plan, but each family member's spot is deeply ingrained in you like your unexplained love for Johnny Farnham.

Luke Huntley of the Snake Catcher Noosa Facebook page was called out to the house to deal with the sitch and was stunned with the cheek of this scaly whopper.

"I assumed it was outside… only to discover when I arrived they actually meant inside and right next to the TV," he said on Facebook.

Curled up on the couch in a prime viewing spot in the Cooroy family's home, the python was not keen on giving up its position.

Huntley estimated the snake was about 2.4m long, which is a fair-sized snake to be hanging out in someone's house.

He advised people to keep their windows and doors closed to keep critters like this guy out.
