VIDEO: Skittles' Mother's Day ad is grossing out the internet

We're all a little tired of the warm fuzzy Mother's Day ads going around, but this latest one from Skittles will make you crave the classic breakfast in bed scenario again.
The most off-putting ad we've seen to date was posted to the Skittle USA YouTube channel two days ago.
"See how this quirky mother and son keep their loving bond stronger than ever in this Skittles Mother's Day commercial," we're told in a YouTube caption that in no way prepares anyone for the unholy weirdness they're about to see.
Because this mother and son do have bond.
A literal bond.
A bond between the son's non-existent belly button and the mother's apparently still functioning placenta.
Yep, that's an umbilical cord between them.

And now the hashtag #cuttherainbow kind of makes sense.
Except calling a meaty cord between mother and adult child a rainbow is a metaphor even we would be at a stretch to use.
This is like a mix between Napoleon Dynamite, Human Centipede and a depiction of Principal Skinner and his mother in one gloriously disturbing 30 second clip.

Interestingly, the video has more likes than dislikes, but the margin is close.
And while it is disgusting, it seems there is definitely a market for people who enjoy offbeat that's-so-not-right humour.
"The dog should have been chewing on it ," YouTuber and sick puppy McC1oudv2 said.
Good lord.
