Random Scottish bloke unknowingly interrupts reporter’s live cross

Sky News political reporter Faisal Islam was doing a live cross from Ayr, Scotland yesterday and was just wrapping things up before a local bloke decided to have a chinwag.

The fellow wanders into the shot, wanting to have a chat with Islam about his report.

Unfortunately, old mate was just a little bit too keen.

Because while Islam’s piece to camera might have ended, the live cross was still going on.

Vision of this delightful encounter is now going viral after viewers posted about it on social media.

“Sensational cameo from a random Scottish man during @faisalislam’s coverage of Theresa May’s trip,” fellow journo Jamie Ross said in a Tweet.

Sky News posted a longer version of the video to Twitter on Thursday, showing just how long Islam kept up an awkward smile before the feed eventually cut out.

It was excruciating… and brilliant to watch.

The video chalked up nearly 300,000 views in just one day.

But if you thought Islam would have been cross with old mate from Ayr, you’re wrong.

“True gent, waited until the live finished before the chat...” Islam said on Twitter.  

“Had a nice chat with him afterwards.”
