Exclusive: Aussie queen Kween Kong takes on the world as she represents Down Under in RuPaul's Drag Race Global All Stars

EXCLUSIVE: Kween Kong has officially joined the ranks of RuPaul's Drag Race Global All Stars.

The drag sensation and runner-up to RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under Season 2 is currently representing Australia with all the charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent the world has come to expect.

Kween Kong opened up to 9Entertainment about her journey, the challenges, and the sheer thrill of stepping onto the world's biggest stage.

Reflecting on the moment she found out she would be part of Global All Stars, the queen said: "Me and Hannah [Conda] both got our calls at the same time, and it was quite quickly after Down Under Season 2 ended.

"They told us they had us in mind for another thing, and when they said 'Global,' the world's biggest stage. I was like, 'OK, sign me up. I want to do it.'"

Stepping into the competition for a second time brought a newfound confidence for the Aussie queen.

"After you do it like the first time... once I've learned something, I quickly become an expert at it. I felt like walking in, I had an understanding of not just how to have a good time, but also how to showcase myself in the way I wanted," she explained.

But the experience wasn't just about putting on a show.

For Kween Kong, this was a chance to represent her culture and heritage on an international platform.

"I'm representing not just Australia, but New Zealand and the Pacific as well. Advocacy is at the forefront of everything I do, and I knew I had to make sure that the people from home felt seen," she continued.

Facing off against the crème de la crème of the drag world, Kween Kong admitted to feeling both at home and challenged.

"I felt correct walking into a room full of elite artists. Seeing Alyssa Edwards there, I thought, 'Oh, it's a competition now!'

"The game was on as soon as I saw her in that big four-stacked wig."

Despite the fierce competition, Kween Kong's second run on Drag Race was a markedly more joyful experience.

"I just had more fun. The first time, I put so much pressure on myself. This time, I just wanted to be a d--khead, make everyone laugh, and have some fun. With those being my priorities, I just enjoyed the process and did very well."

The journey wasn't without its challenges, particularly given Kween Kong's battle with health issues.

"I've been dealing with a hereditary kidney disease and towards the end of last year, my last kidney started failing. I started dialysis and was scheduled for a transplant."

Watching back her episodes of Global All Stars and knowing the pain she was going through, she added: "Watching it now, I realise how much agony my body was in. But I'm just happy I got out of it alive."

As Global All Stars airs, Kween Kong has been travelling the world from Zurich to London, experiencing firsthand the show's global impact.

"You forget how many people watch this TV show, and it's made me realise there's a lot of work we need to do here in Australia.

"I want to make sure we lead the way in getting it done."

With a new season of Drag Race Down Under on the horizon, Kween Kong is excited to see Michelle Visage take the reins as host.

"Michelle has been the right hand to Ru for years. She understands Down Under drag, and I'm excited to see what she'll bring."

As for the new queens stepping into the spotlight, Kween Kong's advice is simple: "Have fun. Remember, it's a job, you're on TV to entertain. Don't bring the drama home, and don't read the comments."

In true Kween Kong fashion, she's ready to claim the crown not just for herself, but for the communities she represents.

"Some of these girls look amazing, they have lots of money, they look like incredible drag queens," she added.

"But I think what I have that's different is that I can be the life of the party, a great entertainer... but at the forefront, I am that drag at the front of the line that will throw bricks."

"Drag needs to be about leadership and activism, and that's why I should win."
