City cops go bush when cattle get stuck in dam

Well, this is quite a moo-ving story.

Every year, the Monaro Police call on city-based officers to come and help them out during the snow season, and the urban coppers get a glimpse at how things work in the country.

Just yesterday, two on-loan officers got a call from a local farmer in the Monaro region in southern New South Wales.

They might have been baffled when they got to his place and saw two cattle bogged in his dam, but never let it be said NSW police aren't resourceful.

The two cops got their hands dirty rigging up the cattle to haul them from the sunken dam, and both animals survived.

Hopefully, the bovines won't stray again, while according to the Monaro Police Facebook page, the officers got the satisfaction of "knowing they helped an Aussie famrer in his time of need".
