As we learned from a yarn from reporter Katie Nielsen for US broadcaster CBS, the pilot reported a rupture to the plane’s fuel line and opted to make an emergency landing.

The who scene was captured on Brandi and Eric Geer’s dash cam, which shows the skill of the pilot.

Brandi Geer told Nielsen it appeared as if the pilot was waiting for a gap in traffic before landing on the road.

“He was able to hold that plane up until all the cars got out of the way and then he landed it and he immediately went to the side,” she said.

Amazingly, no one was hurt, no cars were damaged and, aside from the reported mechanical failure, the plane was in pretty good nick.

Police arrived at the scene to divert traffic, with the plane eventually removed from the road on the back of a tow truck.
