Original Iron Man suit stolen from LA warehouse

Somewhere in California, somebody is sitting on the couch eating chips while dressed as Iron Man.

And it's not Robert Downey Jr, who no doubt is drinking Kombucha on a treadmill and trying to forget the 1990s.

Because the original suit from the first Iron Man movie has disappeared from a prop warehouse in Los Angeles.

The costume, valued at A$435,000 was last seen in February, and was taken from the warehouse in the San Fernando Valley sometime after that.

It was only when propmasters decided to check on the suit that they realised it had been stolen.

The LAPD is now investigating.

Considered a minor superhero in the Marvel canon, the film Iron Man was a runaway success.

Nineteen more Marvel films have been released since 2008, with Downey reprising his role nine times.
