"I would love to be in a home where at any viewpoint you could see the water. See the turquoise colour," Natasha said.

"One of the things that's very important to us is limiting our footprint on the environment and being sustainable," Bob revealed.

The couple added that they were looking to have their wedding at the home they purchase, meaning they'd want it large enough to entertain a crowd.

Margaret then took the couple to three properties for them to explore.

Located on the island of Eleuthera, the pair instantly fell in love with the beach out the front of the house, which featured two small islands.

The view to the beach was stunning, and the decking out the front was a big drawcard for the couple. However inside they found that while bright, it reminded them of an American-style home, and didn't have the off-the-grid charm they were searching for.

The house also included a one-bedroom rental suite, however it wasn't completed and required major renovations.

Natasha and Bob were not impressed with the interiors. 9Now

"This hits the mark in terms of being off-the-grid," Bob said. Natasha, however, pointed out that she would want something that didn't require as much work.

Spirit House has lots of character. 9Now

The house had an abundance of indoors and outdoors living space, with stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Inside the house had an open floor plan with high wooden ceilings and lots of windows, allowing for ample natural light.

The open plan living was a major drawcard. 9Now

"It's off-the-grid and it's rustic, but there's a wine bar," Natasha said. "It's an entertainer's home."

One downside to the master bedroom was an open bathroom right behind the bedhead.

While the master bedroom looked great, they weren't a fan of what they found behind the bedhead. 9Now

"This is sexy," Natasha said pointing to the bed area. "Not so sexy," she added, pointing to the open toilet.

"I don't know if I can wrap my head around doing my business with somebody else just hanging out on the other side of a small barrier," Natasha said.

Yes... a toilet. One would hear everything, and Natasha was not a fan. 9Now

The couple found the other bathroom crazy, unique and "like a museum", adding, "There's some kookiness there that we're not going to roll with."

The home was entirely solar powered with a backup generator, and was a short walk to a stunning private beach.

Newly renovated and located on Cat Island, the couple were in awe of the house which consisted of five detached spaces. In particular Bob loved the home office, which he could "really envision working from".

They also loved the of the master bedrooms and the bathrooms, which featured a shower that was open to the sky.

The property was also wired for solar, but not yet fitted with panels. 9Now

The house was also right on a large beach, which the couple saw as another huge win, and with lots of entertaining space they felt they could easily host their dream wedding there.

Despite this the couple noted that it was a fair way above their budget.

Decision time

The couple ruled out Orange Creek Estate because it was too far out of their price range. They then ruled out Eleuthera Seaside Cottage because in Natasha's words, the interior "just looked like something you could buy in the US".
