Lil Nas X surprises Ellen DeGeneres in shocking holiday-themed costume

Lil Nas X made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to discuss his new song 'Holiday', and made quite the impression as a bedazzled Santa Claus.

The popular rapper walked onto the studio stage to greet DeGeneres in a silver, tinsel-trimmed suit and hat, silver wig and beard, and white contact lenses, similar to the look he wears in the 'Holiday' music video.

"I really like dressing up in costumes and giving a different persona," he said, and then went on to discuss the music video, which he filmed in only two days.

"I had been working the song since February of this year. It already had the theme of OK, it's a holiday. I was like, how do I wrap this up into an amazing music video?" the 'Old Town Road' rapper said.

"The timing with Christmas coming up, and the theme of being away for an entire year and then coming back at the end — who does that? Santa, you know?" he said. "Everything just fell into place."

Lil Nas X has also been wearing the costume to do holiday giveaways.

"People are either very intrigued or like, scared," he said.

The 21-year-old also sat down to answer a rapid-fire set of 'Burning Questions' that DeGeneres often offers her guests.

DeGeneres asked what the first thing he would do once a COVID vaccine becomes available, and Lil Nas X replied he would throw a party with all of his friends.

The musician was also asked who his first celebrity crush, and he simply responded in a reverent whisper, "Usher."
