Labrador adopts nine orphaned ducklings
A 10-year-old Labrador has taken a family of nine orphaned ducklings under its paw.
Staff at English historical site Mountfitchet Castle found the waterfowl nontuplets wandering the grounds without their mother in sight.
A fox is likely to blame for killing the ducklings' mum, but Fred the resident doggo has shown not all canines are bad.

Fred took an immediate liking to the ducklings, and has been taking care of them ever since.
And this video of Fred standing guard as the tiny birds cheep is just too cute for words.
All of a sudden Mountfitchet Castle has a better attraction than its Bank Holiday Medieval Catapult Firing Spectacular.
Which frankly, sounds awesome.
