When celebrities appear on an Ellen DeGeneres TV special they can usually expect lots of laughs and wacky games. But Jennifer Aniston found herself getting emotional when she took part in Ellen's Greatest Night of Giveaways.

In a clip from the show posted by USA Today, The Morning Wars star began crying when she watched a video of Elyse Kimball asking Ellen for help. Elyse and her sister Lexie — who joined Ellen and Jennifer on stage with their dad Jeff — had lost their mother to cancer, and their dad was unemployed.

Both Jennifer and Ellen were particularly moved when Jeff revealed the motivational quote his family used during his wife's treatment came from Ellen's character in Finding Nemo.

"She was going in for a 13-hour surgery," he said. "The last thing I did was blow her a kiss and say, 'Just keep swimming'."

Jennifer then asked the family, "What would your mother say if she knew you guys were here right now?"

"She would be so happy. Ellen, she was your biggest fan so she would be like, 'Move over 'cause I'm getting closer'," Jeff laughed.

Ellen noted that Christmas was a special holiday for the girls' mother, so she surprised them by getting their house decked out in lights, presents and decorations to give them the ultimate Christmas. The gesture brought more tears as well as shocked reactions from the girls.
