Hollywood A-lister Matt Damon spotted bartending in Aussie pub
Hollywood star Matt Damon has flexed his beer pouring skills behind the bar of Andy Lee's Aussie-themed Old Mates Pub in New York.
The A-list actor was spotted bartending, albeit for a brief moment, alongside Nova radio host Lauren Phillips.
"Cheers to the new bartenders," a photo of the duo was captioned on Old Mate Pub's Instagram account.
"@lfizzlphillips & some other guy 🤣," they wrote referencing Damon.

While Damon's expertise is in acting, the crew at Old Mate were impressed by Damon's work behind the bar.
"Pretty decent pouring if you ask me," they captioned another snap of Damon whipping up a schooner.

We bet Damon is relieved to know that if acting roles dry up anytime soon there'll be a casual position available for him at Old Mate's.
Famous faces line up at Old Mate's
Matt Damon isn't the only famous face to have been spotted at Old Mate's.
Of course it's co-owned by some of Australia's most well-known names including comedian Andy Lee, Hugh Jackman, Pat Cummins, Ash Barty and Patty Mills.

In July 2025, part owner and pro surfer Mick Fanning donated his prized possession, the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach trophy, to Old Mates and started a tradition for the famous faces that walked through the door.
It was that day Old Mates declared: "When a world champion Aussie is invited to ring the bell, Old Mates will shout the entire pub."
How did Old Mate come about?
Speaking to Today earlier this year, Andy Lee revealed: "I reached out to a few friends to put in, to try and raise funds for [Old Mate].
"Hamish was first in there and then Pat Cummins and Mick Fanning, Patty Mills, Ash Barty and Hugh Jackman just to name a few, they've come and supported the whole venture which is exciting."

The pub is located in Seaport, a short walk from the heart of New York's financial district.
It serves fresh, cold beer for homesick Aussies and provides a place for them to experience the creature comforts of home like a chicken parmi and a VB.
Punters can also expect the AFL, NRL, cricket and more on every TV. We're sure the NRL Grand Final was one to watch there!
