Exclusive: Hosts Sarah Abo and David Campbell reflect on Carols by Candlelight's 'most incredible moments' ahead of the 2024 event

EXCLUSIVE: David Campbell and Sarah Abo are back with bounds of festive spirit as they return this year to host Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight 2024.

This year's stellar lineup includes names like Anthony Callea, Casey Donovan, Dami Im, Emma Memma, Mitch Tambo, Dylan Wright, Bonnie Anderson and many more.

While there's plenty of buzz about the glitz and glam of the occasion, David and Sarah turned their focus towards the cause behind it all.

"It's an honour to host the event knowing that we're helping raise awareness about the incredible work Vision Australia does to help the lives of Aussie children and families. It fills me with so much gratitude," Sarah told 9Entertainment.

Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight presented by AAMI will be live from the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Tuesday December 24, at 8.00pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Every dollar raised by Carols by Candlelight goes toward supporting close to 2,000 families with children who are blind or have low vision.

Over the years, David has seen first hand how the funds raised have helped families and it's left a lasting impression on him.

"Vision Australia gives these children and their families accessibility to an amazing quality of education where they can learn how to read using braille and other techniques were technology has really advanced," David explained.

"We're giving power to these families to have a fuller life."

Sarah explained that she grew up watching Carols by Candlelight with her family "every year without fail" and this year will be no different.

"This year my family is having our Christmas party a little earlier so that they can come along to enjoy the Carols in person. It's such a delight!" she said.

Carols by Candlelight is equally as an exciting time for David. He reflected on his most memorable Carols moments from the years gone by.

"It's hard not to mention when I got to sing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' on stage with my own dad [Jimmy Barnes].

"Of course there was the incredible moment Hugh Jackman flew to perform 'This Is Me' prior to The Greatest Showman becoming huge."

Carols by Candlelight is Vision Australia's biggest annual fundraiser for children's services, with 100 per cent of profits from ticket sales going directly towards supporting close to 2,000 families with children who are blind or have low vision.
