From tragedy to Emmy-winning careers: Everybody Loves Raymond cast returns to screens ahead of 30th anniversary

Get excited sitcom fans, the cast of Everybody Loves Raymond will be returning to TV screens – but exactly where are they now?

The stars are set to reunite for a 30th anniversary special, airing November 2025.

Ray Romano, Brad Garrett and Patricia Heaton will all appear to mark almost three decades since the show first premiered.

After all everybody loves a reunion!

The reunion will honour three late co-stars. Scroll down to see where the cast are today.

The event will be hosted by Romano, 67, as he's joined by series creator Phil Rosenthal along with special appearances from co-stars Madylin Sweeten, Sullivan Sweeten, Monica Horan and more.

The 90 minute special will include unseen takes from the show, behind-the-scenes confessions and all the commentary fans could ask for.

Fans were thrilled to hear the news with many rushing to the comments section under CBS's official Instagram announcement.

"THE BEST NEWS EVER HOLY S--T 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️," one wrote.

"This is so exciting!! 😍 The best sitcom.. It will never be the same without Marie and Frank," pointed out another.

"Hopefully they Honour Doris and Peter They were such a big part of the Show," wrote a third.

"I know it's a reunion show. I'm just saying without Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle it will be sad.. they were perfection," another agreed.

As fans hoped, the reunion will include tributes to their late co-stars, Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle who played Ray's parents Marie and Frank in the series.

Along with late co-star Sawyer Sweeten, who played one of Ray's son and tragically passed in 2015.

The special event comes after Romano and Garrett reunited in September 2025 on stage at the 77th Emmy awards.

Speaking of an actual reboot or sequel series, Garrett told PEOPLE earlier this year that show wouldn't be the same without the parents.

The actor was of course referring to the passing of on-screen parents Roberts and Boyle.

"They were the catalyst, and to do anything that would resemble that wouldn't be right to the audiences or to the loyal fan base," he told the publication at the time.

The series which aired from 1996 until 2005, had audiences laughing over the course of its nine seasons.

The show was nominated for 69 Emmys, winning 15, and is one of the most popular and critically acclaimed family sitcoms of all time.

So where exactly are the cast now?

Playing a role loosely based on his real life, Romano went on to voice Manny in the Ice Age film series and is set to reprise his role in the franchise's sixth feature in 2027.

The animated film as become one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time.

Romano married Anna Scarpulla in 1987, and they share four kids.

Patricia Heaton as Debra Barone

Heaton played Raymond's wife Debra and the mother of his children.

She won two Emmy's for her role and now has four children of her own with her husband David Hunt, who she married in 1990.

Fans would recognise Heaton now as mum Frankie in TV comedy The Middle which aired 2009 until 2018.

Ahhh Raymond's older (and unlucky-in-love) brother.

After Everybody Loves Raymond, Garrett starred in the TV film Gleason, for which he scored an Emmy nom.

The star has also lent his distinctive deep voice to the animated world including Eeyore in the Winnie the Pooh franchise, Finding Dory, SpongeBob SquarePants and Disney's 2025 film Elio.

Garrett was married to Jill Diven for eight years until their 2007 divorce. He remarried IsaBeall Quella in 2001.

Doris Roberts brilliantly played Raymond and Robert's intrusive, hilariously controlling and overbearing mother who lived across the street with her husband, Frank.

Roberts, 90, passed away in April 2016 after a film and television career which spanned six decades.

And who could forget Frank Barone, the series' stubborn and oh so loveable grandpa.

Prior to the sitcom, Boyle was known for playing the comical monster in Young Frankenstein in 1974. He also appeared as a guest character in The X-Files, for which he won a 1996 Emmy Award.

Boyle, 71, passed away in 2006 after suffering from multiple myeloma and heart disease.

Did you know the three siblings were played by real-life siblings Madylin, Sawyer and Sullivan?

Ally is the older sister to twins Geoffrey and Michael in the series.

Madylin continues to act today with mostly guest roles (Grey's Anatomy, Lucifer, Toy Story 2), theatre work and short films on her resume.

Apart from one or two roles in the early 2000s, the twins stepped away from the spotlight. Everybody Loves Raymond.

Sadly, twin brother Sawyer died in 2015 at the age of 19.

In April 2025, Madylin welcomed a baby boy with her husband.
