Optical illusion fools our poor little hearts into fearing this corgi is about to be dropped from a plane

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably already seen the optical illusion’s magic disappear.

You’ll know that this is a corgi being dropped a very short distance into the snow.

But if you’re anything like us, you were fooled by the thumbnail.

Because when we clicked on it, we were bloody worried about that corgi being dropped from the sky.

And we weren’t alone.

This short GIF is going bonkers on Reddit right now after being posted with the caption “dog thrown from plane into the abyss below” by user milesblakey.

Posted in the early hours of Tuesday morning, the clip had clocked up more than 100,000 upvotes by Tuesday afternoon.

It actually comes from the Instagram account @karmatheecorgi, with eagle-eyed Redditor iambence17 pointing out the original video.

And look, the video is very cute.

But it was that caption that really drove up the view count of this one.

It seemed as if eeeeeveryone was fooled.

“I fell for it, but now I can’t unsee the snow to figure out how I saw the plane in the first place,” brohica said.
