'Mum, is that you!?': Shocking dating show twist leaves participants lost for words

The quest for love is never a straightforward path, and going on a dating show is one extreme way to find romance.

But when eight single women with an affinity for younger men show up on a mystical Mexican getaway looking for the guy of their dreams, they get the shock they could never have prepared for.

The women, aged 43 to 59, wait patiently for suitors to arrive – and when they do a jarring secret is revealed.

The twist? Unbeknownst to them, the dating pool is filled with one another's sons.

The reality show called MILF Manor – which you can stream for free on MILF Manor – has a premise unlike any other.

With all the participants open to intergenerational dating, it's all fair game... but that's not to say it still isn't very awkward.

"Mum, is that you!?" one man named Joey shrieks after spotting his mum Kellie in the lineup of women.

"That's my mum right there, this can't be happening," Harrison says.

While one mother, Shannan, thinks she's in the wrong place. "I am really confused right now – what is really happening here?"

Shannan isn't the only one confused, with mother-and-son duo Stefany and Billy failing to understand how they are to move forward.

"So we're supposed to date the other mums?" Billy wonders. "I mean... but you're here, that is so weird. SO weird," his mum Stefany tries to make sense of it all.

But as weird as it is, the show must go on... and it does.

After the initial surprise, it doesn't take long for everyone to start getting acquainted with some already picking out who the have their eyes on.

A message soon explains the premise of the show: "You are about to start a unique dating journey. All of you have expressed an openness to intergenerational dating.

"In the real world there is often a double standard where an older man with a younger woman is accepted but an older woman with a younger man isn't... Not here.

"Over the next few weeks, you'll be part of a dating experiment that will level the playing field and see if you can find that special someone from a different age group."

The show has one final surprise to make things even more complicated – the mothers and their sons had to share a room.

"Just please don't bring any of the mums in there. Please do not to that," Stephany requests of her son Billy.
