Euphoria season three is here, with its stacked line-up of cast members stepping out for the Los Angeles premiere in predictably glitzy fashion.

But the atmosphere appeared anything but 'euphoric' in this instance, with the event marred by mounting feud rumours between Zendaya and two key players.

Both co-star Sydney Sweeney and director Sam Levinson appeared to cop the cold shoulder from the actress, further fuelling speculation of ongoing tensions between them.

Fans have long discussed alleged bad blood between the series' leading ladies – and Zendaya's demeanour at the premiere has only fuelled these theories.

The The Drama star's glaring absence from a cast photo featuring Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, and Sweeney proved telling, with reports Zendaya had been instructed to keep interactions with the latter to a minimum.

"Euphoria bosses are all too aware the pair do not get along," an insider told The Sun.

They alleged the pair's paths "barely crossed" while filming Euphoria season three – and that their current red carpet appearances are no exception.

"During the press tour, any interactions between the pair are being kept to a minimum to avoid any awkward encounters on camera. There is a complete ban on journalists asking about tensions between Zendaya and Sydney."

Zendaya's appearance at the event seemed very brief, with reports suggesting the star showed face, took photos and departed after around 10 minutes.

Rumours of the stars' fraught dynamic – which neither actress has commented on publicly – are said to have stemmed from Sweeney's alleged behaviour towards Zendaya's long-time beau Tom Holland.

"It was an open secret that Sydney had the hots for Tom and was flirty with him when he would come to set," the source claimed.

"That did not go down well with Zendaya. They have not really hung out socially since then."

Political tensions have reportedly also contributed to the rift between the pair, following revelations Sweeney is registered as a Republican.

"It's not like they have had a big bust-up, but Zendaya has quietly distanced herself from Syd. Their politics are wildly different," the same source disclosed.

But Zendaya's Sweeney encounter was not the only talking point to come out of the premiere.

Rumours of a rift between the actress and Euphoria director Sam Levinson were fuelled when a notably tense moment between the pair was caught on camera.

Zendaya was seen briefly hugging her co-worker as the two crossed paths on the red carpet, leading to a pointedly awkward interaction in the aftermath.

The incriminating clip shows the director beckoning Zendaya towards him to take a photo together, with the actress instead opting to turn on her heel and make a hasty getaway across the carpet.

Their alleged 'dispute' first came to light following repeated delays of Euphoria season three, which was reportedly down to Levinson's prioritisation of work on series The Idol.

While Zendaya was allegedly annoyed by Levinson's work on the critically-panned show, he apparently had concerns about how she was navigating her career.

According to a Buzzfeed report, a source close to the director blamed the show's delay on Zendaya's increased focus on big-screen projects at the time.

Publicly responding to these claims, the star clarified she'd "been off [work] for a couple of years," so was not to be blamed for any delays to the project.

"It's not delayed because of my schedule," the star said to Vanity Fair. "I've been open, just waiting."

Ultimately, it is said that there will be "a sigh of relief when Euphoria is over and they can all go their separate ways."
