The significance of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith's children's' names dawns on fans
Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith have been splashed all over the headlines since the controversial 2022 Oscars ceremony.
However, their names have been trending on one Twitter thread for a much more wholesome reason.
Fans of the iconic couple have only just realised the not-so-secret meaning behind the names of their two children, Willow, 21, and Jaden, 23.

"No I just clocked why Will & Jayda's kids are called Jaden & Willow & now it's time for my bed," one woman wrote.
She was alluding to the fact Willow is a clear play on the name Will and Jaden is a nod to his mother's name, Jada.
Most commenters were shocked the woman only just made this discovery, while others basked in her revelation.
"Why is this the 1st time I've noticed this?" one user tweeted back. "Took you this long?" another asked.

"Please, I've just realised after your tweet," another woman wrote earnestly. "I thought they were just random names."
During this interaction, fans of the Men in Black star were also shocked to find out Will's birth name is actually Willard.
He was born Willard Carroll Smith II, named after his father Willard Carroll Smith Sr, and his first son — who is nicknamed Trey — was named Willard Carroll Smith III.

Will Smith has been marred in controversy after he slapped comedian Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars ceremony for making a joke about Jada's bald head.
Jada has alopecia and has been vocal about her condition in the past, revealing she was diagnosed in 2018.
The actor later apologised to Rock and said "a joke about Jada's medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally".
