It’s pretty hard to see Liam Neeson as a bad guy. Perhaps it's that cute Irish accent or his general "nice dad" demeanour?

Despite what the cops might think, his role in Taken 3 is no exception. Check out the first trailer for the explosive new film above.

Returning for the third time as ex-CIA agent Bryan Mills, Liam is once again fighting off enemies and running from the law after being framed for the murder of his wife. Sad face!

The 62-year-old kicks some serious butt in the action thriller, on a mission to protect his daughter from a pack of Albanian mobsters.

Intrigued yet? We certainly are.

Taken 3, or Tak3n as it's being spelled, hits Australian cinemas on January 8, 2015.
