WATCH Indina Menzel flubs 'Let It Go' high note on New Year's Eve
Practice doesn't always make pitch perfect.
Idina Menzel must have sung 'Let It Go' live about a million times now, but her New Year's Eve performance of the Frozen hit in Times Square left some viewers cold. A number of them flew into a Twitter outrage over her less-than-perfect delivery of that final "Let the storm rage on" line.
One critic wrote, "Idina Menzel has an awful voice my ears are bleeding." Another suggested that Glee star Lea Michele should have sung the song in the first place.
Watch the video above and judge the performance for yourself.
No, the end wasn't exactly Grammy-worthy, but we say give the girl a break. It was freezing cold out there, and even the greatest singers botch a high note now and then.
And hey, at least she didn't call herself "Adele Nazeem". We bet John Travolta is still red-faced from that one.
