Watch: Ben Affleck is a murder suspect in chilling Gone Girl trailer

We're used to seeing Ben Affleck play the nice guy, but there is a hidden weight to his likeable on-screen persona in haunting new film Gone Girl.

Seemingly distraught after the mysterious disappearance of his wife Amy (played by Rosamund Pike), the tables turn on Affleck's character Nick as he goes from grieving husband to murder suspect.

Watch him awesomely pull off "friendly neighbourhood psychopath" in the above trailer.

Adapted from Gillian Flynn's popular book and directed by David Fincher, Gone Girl is set for release on October 3.
