Virat Kohli welcomes baby daughter with wife Anushka Sharma

India cricket captain Virat Kohli and his Bollywood actress wife, Anushka Sharma, have welcomed their first baby together.

Kohli, 32, and Sharma, 32, were excited to announce the news with fans on social media.

"We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon," Kohli wrote on Twitter on January 11.

"Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives."

Kohli took a break from the Test series in Australia to be in Mumbai for the birth of his child.

Indian teammate Hardik Pandya replied to the happy news.

"Congratulations brother and @anushkasharma. Welcome to parenthood. A big hug to the little one, who'll give you happiness like you've never experienced before," he wrote on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Australian cricket star David Warner wrote, "Awesome news, congrats buddy. DM me for some tips".

The couple got married in Italy in December 2017 after being together for several years. Sharma is a well known Bollywood star, most recently starring in the 2018 film Zero.
